Bob'll be along in a little bit, Martin, but I remember him buying a
datalogging digital thermometer a while back (I can't remember, but I
think he went whole hog on the Fluke), and I'm betting he's logging the
data into the Fluke and then downloading it into Excel, later.

Rick,
Wow - what a memory!! Scary! Actually it's the inexpensive Extech 421508,
7-thermocouple thermometer. It costs $159 "new" (cheaper on Ebay) and =
came
complete with two type-K thermocouple probes, a special RS-232 cable and
the necessary software for displaying and recording the data on a =
computer
through an RS-232 serial port built into the thermometer.
But now I'm using the PXR4 as my digital thermometer (for roasting,
anyway). I guess I've gone and obsoleted a bunch of my stuff with this =
new
setup including the Extech! It's still handy for other things.
Bob
