Topic: My new Mazzer is here! (3 msgs / 84 lines)

My new Mazzer got here today! Boy is it big! The base alone is 12"! My
kitchenaid stand mixer is only 14" high. No overhang on that side of the
kitchen so height is not a problem. I'm starting off dialing it in on =
French
press. Nice that the hopper is removable, makes for quick beans change =
out.
I did a roast of some old cheap beans to test and see how fine I could =
grind
and still plunge in the French press. First grind was waaaay too fine =
and
couldn't plunge with the extra sediment filter screen installed. Played =
with
it a few more grinds and I think I have it close to where I want it. May
have to tweak the grind a bit, but it will plunge now. Removed the =
hopper
and saved the beans for later adjustments and reloaded the Mazzer with =
some
Baba's beans I did last night at full city+. Them's good drinking! Looks
like my sister may be getting my old kitchenaid a-9 for a birthday =
present!
:D
Going to roast some Guatemala Antigua then time to hit the hay. I'll =
reload
the cheap beans work on dialing it in for the Bodum Santos tomorrow...

With Odie the Pembroke Corgi dog wondering what all the do-ins is about =
in
the kitchen.
