Topic: A few questions on the Liva 90 (45 lines)
1) From: Clifton Burkett
I have a few questions for the Liva owners and users out there. I am
wondering how the Liva preheats its group to proper temperature before =
you
pull a shot. For instance there is a lot of data out there on the e61 =
group
head, how it heats using water flow etc. I can't find much data on the
Pasquini Liva 90 method of heating its group head. How do they get the =
heat
from the boiler to the group head to preheat before pulling a shot? The
method has to be effective as the machine is used as a benchmark in a =
lot of
tests. Is the group head directly attached to the boiler, as in some
commercial units, so heat is transferred via direct conduction? You can =
look
at the patent design of the E61 brew group to see how they handle the =
heat
through water circulation. How heavy is the group head on the Liva? Does =
it
require a couple of blank shots to bring it to final brew temperature? I
have been reading that many dual boiler systems have to pull a few blank
shots to raise the group temperature which is opposite to a heat =
exchange
unit that uses the same process of pulling a couple of blank shots to =
lower
the temperature of the group to final brew temperature. Sitting idle so =
to
speak where is the temperature of the Liva 90 compared to the =
temperature of
final brew?
