Hi all, 
 I'm new to group; my name is Jeff Braman
A "new" (several weeks) to homeroasting with a FR+ (8) and a variac.
Roast mostly for espresso ("straight" and "americano's");
Isomac Tea and Mazzer Mini (Press Pot, too)
"Know" some posters from alt.coffee and coffeegeek.com.

  Welcome to the group.  I'm one of the old guys on the list - that
would age and time on the list - but mostly age :o)
  Sounds like you've got some serious equipment and the fact that you've
hacked your FR+ makes you one of the regulars.  Did you split your fan
to a separate control or just vary the whole input?
  Look forward to seeing you regularly.

Any vac's in your arsenal? Good decision to start putting homeroast to your
quality grinder!
I too am curious if you've split wired your FR or variacing single voltage
input. I found I got much better roast control after splitting. BTW, where
ya hail from?
