Was thinking many don't have ability to pull ristretto shots and thought of
another idea for a koffee syrup that wouldn't be burned tasting. Don't know
if it'll work but why not use the hot syrup for direct infusion like press
pot! In other words: cook your simple syrup and remove to cool, when the
temp cools to 205f add grounds, infuse proper length of time you would for
press pot for the particular grind then strain. (I use a finer grind for
2min infusion.) I don't know how the sugar will affect the infusion though
but seems it's worth a try. I'll give it a whirl later, likely using 32gr or
so grinds for a 1cup water 1cup sugar syrup. Or do a smaller 1/2 1/2cup
batch...
