It's usually added post-roast, but I think you get the best tasting result if you add it post-brew, like you do the Torani syrup. The only reason for adding it to the beans is so that you can charge an extra $2/lb for "gourmet" beans. -- Rick

I've noticed many times in different Cafes whenever they have flavored beans and use the same grinder the regular coffe tastes flavored. Similar thing happens in bagel stores when they put non-onion bagels on a surface that onion bagels have been on. So be wary.
