Topic: Thermo couple questions (2 msgs / 36 lines)
1) From: petzul
As an avid ebay junkie, I can not help looking for stuff I need. Again I
have found lots of J type thermocouples, from spools of wire to steel
clad probes.
In the past I have worked with TC's, and even welded the ends! So I
guess I could get by with some wire, but being budget conscious, and my
garage is already full, I was thinking of just getting a shielded probe.
Does anyone have any ideas about whether a 3/16 dia SS probe would be
too slow in response time for PID use?
Thanks,
PeterZ

A probe will slow down response somewhat, but it may be acceptable for =
your use. Some people must use a probe because that's the only way they =
can make sure it stays in the bean mass, which of course is the most =
important thing. Dan
