Topic: abbot fund raising (13 msgs / 273 lines)
1) From: Penelope
Hello All,
Alchemist John suggested I post this link for your enjoyment. He
says it would be a great way to raise the money to get Wandering Penguin,
and maybe even Oaxaca Charlie to the PNWGII. But we'd have to act quickly.http://www.grangecalendar.com/index.htm So who's up for a Sweet Maria's Homeroast list shameless fund
raiser calendar? :-) Perhaps if the funds can't be raised for this year,
the people taking photos at the gathering could put something together to
raise funds for future gatherings.
John is too busy off by his espresso machine to type. But then
I'm at the computer anyway, so he couldn't get in here to type.

I probaly won't be able to afford to go this year.(sigh) With
the collection of middle aged tubbies making up much of
this list's members, I figure that just *threatening* to put out
nude photos unless people donate some spare change would stand a
better chance of raising funds, than trying to sell a collection
of such pics ;o)

Dear Mr. Mero,
What a brilliant idea! You could do it sorta like a bachelor auction...you
put all the nominees up on a website and then allow people to vote - so many
$$$ to vote for inclusion...so many $$$ to just say no thank you. And then
you publish the calendar and sell it, too.
Naturally, I'm stealing the whole idea, but in your honor I'm going to name
it The Canadian Scheme.

I thought coffee kept you young and thin!??! It's working so far! ;)
Maybe a calendar that focuses on the equipment and the product would be more
appealing.

OK - there you go - throwing the door wide open! You of course mean
focusing on the COFFEE equipment - RIGHT?

I was wondering about which equipment he meant too.
Of course one could hide the, um, equipment behind the COFFEE
equipment. Could be interesting. Artistic even.

If there's anything hot enough around to flash water into steam, this
barista's keeping his shorts on!

No, no, it isn't the "appealing" that is it I think. It is the
"appearance" of something more that is not there. That is what I thought
was interesting about the calendar, no "equipment" showed, only their
gear. Just think, if we did it, you might hear someone exclaim "wow,
doesn't he have some nice equipment, sure looks hot" (Hottop in foreground).

I can see how equipment might be ambiguous...but what would you refer to =
as
the product? Could you please explain. I am way too nave to =
understand
your subtle intonation and well crafted innuendo. :)
Yes. I think I was referring to a calendar that focused in on espresso =
&
roasting equipment with lots of nice shots of PID's, Ed's extra =
horsepower
espresso pump, maybe some flaming beans labeled *$. Call it the Sweet
Maria's Homeroast List Pictorial Reference Calendar, yada yada yada.

Is this personal experience talking? Or do we need to ask Penny to get
