Topic: newbie question on the WBPII---THnaks for all the advice!!! (3 msgs / 58 lines)
1) From: J&K Kouri
First of all, I want to that everyone for the advice and experience on stirring/not stirring with the PII. I ended up sort of doing a combination..... I left the lid on, and then would lift out the butter tray and give it a quick stir with the handle of a wooden spoon every now-and-then. That seemed to work pretty good, even if to just clean out a burst of chaff. After a minute or so the beans were rotating fairly fast but more circular than up and down....that is why I still stirred now and then. I tipped it backwards (1/4" or so under the front feet) as one site suggested which really helped in the circulation.
I roasted in the garage, as it was snowing in Colorado Springs today. I can't imagine doing it in the house....? My first batch was some Kenyan Peaberry's, and now I can't wait to try them tomorrow. I am NOT going to make it 24 hours, just until morning..they smell great! It sure was easy, and hope I am not disappointed tomorrow!
Thanks to all again!
Jeff

Hi Jeff,
Greetings from up North in Boulder County. Did you do anything in your garage
to keep the roast from stalling? Put the PII inside a box for example?
Cheers,
Thom

Exactly. Here is an article that details roasting using the WB2 and a box:http://ineedcoffee.com/01/02/coldroasting/mas
