Topic: The End of Popper Production (2 msgs / 40 lines)
1) From: Paul Jolly
Yes, I've read for some time that fewer and fewer
manufacturers are making poppers...and, given how
hard it is to find them, I believe it.
Apparently it's due to the explosion in the
microwave popcorn business (is that a pun?).
Everybody buys microwavable corn now...so the
market for poppers is gone to crap. Bummer.
I keep scouring the local thrifts and see no
Poppery I! If anyone finds one and would be
willing to sell it to me, let's talk.
Just got some Monsooned malabar. The local
roaster where I went to college (Santa Cruz) used
to make the lightest roast I've ever had with it.
Weird looking beans! I'm looking forward to the
first batch.
Cheers,
Paul

You need to be hitting eBay.com 2 times a week. That is where I got mine.
The 3 bids I competed in all ended up with about a $30-$35 sale price. Then
add $5-$7 shipping. Still a good deal.
