Topic: Udate on new equipment (13 msgs / 287 lines)
1) From: R.N.Kyle
Well after a few months of using the Rocky and the Sylvia I have decided I
don't like all the fuss with grinding tamping and cleaning up. I guess I'm
just lazy.
I ordered a Solis 5000 automatic from Sweet Marias this weekend. I thought
since I drink mostly americano, and cafe creama that the auto was the way to
go. It is nice of Tom to offer free shipping and include a set of SS cups
and saucers and 1 lb of his roasted espresso beans. Thanks goes out to SM
for such a nice offer.

Really. So what is going to happen with the manual equipment? Shelf,
family, ebay?
BTW, I don't think lazy describes someone who drum roasts from a drum they
build and sell.

Well, there's the old expression, "Laziness is the mother of invention."

I always thought it was (necessity was the mother of invention) but then
again ones laziness could make it necessary to find another way.:O)

And don't forget to remind us to go have a look, Ron.

Since Tom is now selling these I will not post the link on list. I just
don't think it would be right.

I think by the time he finishes roasting he's got no energy left - I
think Ron should automate his roaster instead and keep the manual
espresso stuff :-)
BTW, is "Udate" some kind of Linux function? I can feel John reaching
for the keyboard ...

I can't believe I worked all day today, but two triple-shots sure did
help ...

Yes the old man get tired sometimes. I am working on a sample roaster with 2
drums, but it will be manual load and manual dump. Just in the designing
stages now.

I emailed Tom to see if it would be OK to post the links to the auction. I
really did not know his policy especially about items he sells himself.

Ah well, maybe parting ways is for the best. After all this time she's
probably ticked you don't spell her name right anyway! It's Miss Silvia with
an "i" not Sylvia with a "y":-)

Yeah probably so Mike. Sorry for misspelling, you know I can't spell. :O)
