I purchased a FreshRoast Original "Enhanced". It has the same Roasting chamber as the plus version, hence the enhanced. It has the five minute timer instead of the eight minute of the Plus, which means it has a hotter element. I have roasted a few batches in it, and have been VERY happy with the results. The only gripe I have is that I always end up with around six +/- beans that are burnt per batch. I am using the 70.00 CC scoop that came with it. Which is the amount of beans they say to use. I have tried using a few less beans, tilting the roaster, but I always end up with a few burnt ones. I have been roasting through the 1st crack, not quite to the second, around a city+. Total roast time is around 3:30. I have been plugging the Freshroast into a circuit strip which is plugged directly into the wall. I have the roast darkness level slid all the way to light. A few burnt beans is a small price to pay for fresh roasted coffee, but if it can be elimanated that would be good.
                                               Thanks, Scotty

Scott,
The beans are becoming semi lodged in the crevas between the end of the
glass and the bottom of the chamber. Frequently they will stick for a
majority of the roast cycle and then dislodge to join the pack. I made a
small wire spring from a smoothed (or smmothed) out large paper clip and
wedged it in the space between the end of the glass tube and the bottom of
the chamber. The wire has never moved and the black beans dissappeared.
Now to figure out how to keep them from lodging in the west end of the
HotTop drum :O)
