Guys,
A great idea hit me last night. For a midnight snack, a
bowl of cereal was going to be had. As I was getting
ready, it was remembered that a 1.5 qt mixing bowl was
going to be used for roasting, except that it's really
tipsy. It's moon shaped at the bottom except for just
enough flat area to keep it vertical under normal use.
It was pulled out and snugged right into the dog bowl.
The dog bowl was not a waste of money. It makes the
mixing bowl a veritable rock.
The air pocket between the bottoms of the mixing and
dog bowls should insulate the heat at the bottom of
the roast really well.
You'll be advised how the next roast progresses.

Good idea, John... I thought I posted this link earlier, but it isn't
in my sent mail folder, so I must not have sent it... Here's a picture
of my roasting setup...http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/rclewen/detail?.dir=b2f2&.dnm=ee15.jpgI roast in a wire mesh colandar that is 8" across at the top and 4"
across at the base. I put it inside of a mixing bowl for stability.
The mesh also seems to help remove some of the chaff, and it collects
in the mixing bowl...
