Just want to start off by saying this is my first (and hopefully not =
last) post, but I have enjoyed reading the posts here for quite awhile. =
I joined the homeroasting ranks about 2 years ago with my purchase of a =
Fresh Roast Plus roaster and the 4# sampler, and since then the quality =
of the coffee I get from anywhere else seems to pale in comparison to my =
fresh homeroasted. Since then I've slowly upgraded some of my other =
equipment - I'm partial to drip coffee and I purchased a Capresso =
autodrip w/burr grinder .... and then a SwissGold one-cup brewer. I =
try to roast outside or in my garage (weather permitting) without the =
chaff collector, as I find I can extend the roast times into the 8-10 =
Recently after reading everyone's advice about the benefits of a high =
quality grinder, I purchased a Solis Maestro Plus grinder. I've been =
using it for about 2 weeks and have been getting accustomed to the =
settings, amount of coffee to use, etc - and I have been very happy with =
the results. Tonight I brewed perhaps one of the finest cups of coffee =
I have ever had (using the SwissGold one-cup) - probably the combination =
of quality coffee, freshly roasted and rested, and ground just right.
My wife luckily puts up with my coffee obsession, and put up =
surprisingly little resistance when I mentioned wanting to purchase the =
new grinder .... of course I think it has a little something to do with =
the fact that she loves the coffee I make almost as much as I do.
Anyway, I want to thank all the homeroasters here who's posts I've read =
and the advice,/tips/suggestions I have taken which have taken my =
coffeeroasting to new heights .... and of course our hosts, Tom and =
Maria, who supply such wonderful coffee.
