Not a brownie story but a coffee story. I had an employee who was always =
punctual. One week she came in late three days in a row. I asked her =
what was going on. She told me the routine in the her house was she =
would make a pot of coffee. Her husband would take a cup of coffee in =
the car and drive their first-grader to school . All of a sudden their =
daughter refused to have her father drive her to school. She pitched =
such a fit that her mother had to drive her and was subsequently late =
for work. She went on to ask me if she should take her daughter for =
family counseling. Her daughter had always loved her father and loved it =
when he drove her to school. Now she would not go anywhere with him. I =
suggested before seeking counseling she ask her daughter outright what =
was bothering her and why she didn't want daddy to drive her to school =
anymore. The next day my employee arrived at work on time all smiles. I =
asked her how it went. She told me her daughter was disturbed because =
her teacher told her people shouldn't drink and drive and when Daddy =
drives her to school in the morning he drinks.

MessageNice story...I think such antecdotes are great to share...
By chance a headline in todays Google new search for coffee...http://www.delawareonline.com/newsjournal/local/2004/10/15coffeedrinkersb.html"Two drivers reaching for their morning cups of coffee triggered
back-to-back crashes early Thursday that sent two people to the hospital and
closed Del. 14 west of Harrington for nearly two hours, authorities said. "
Smart kid...(and maybe smart teacher??)
best..(I never drink-even coffee-while I drive;-) Well, usually not.) myron

I had a Graduate student and hooked her and her husband on Home roasting. He
would get up early in the morning brew his home roast pour a cup to go and
take their daughter to Kindergarten. Suddenly, for three days in a row, my
Grad student started showing up late for clinic. She was never late before
let alone 3 times in a row. I called her in my office and asked her what was
wrong.
She asked me if I could suggest a family counselor. I asked if I could help.
She preceded to tell me her daughter was a problem. She refused to let her
father drive her to school and insisted her mother drive her. My student had
to drive her the last 3 days and as a result was late for clinic. She could
not understand the child's refusal to ride with her father. She went on to
explain that her daughter always had an excellent relationship with her
father but now would not respond to him. I asked her if she asked her
daughter why she suddenly did not want her father to drive her to school
anymore?
The next morning my student showed up on time with a bright smile on her
face. I asked her what happened. She told me I gave her great advice. She
asked the kid why she no longer wanted Daddy to drive her to school. She
replied, "My teacher said that you should never drink and drive and daddy
drinks when he drives me to school".

"Kids say the DARNdest things!" Hilarious.
As a prof. I thought I had heard them all, but this one is great.
(And since you were an accessory to the infraction, so you have to absolve
her! )
