I did monitor the cracks and thought I should get more at first so I waited into 2nd, we have
roasted decaf just a bit dark and the roast it a tiny, tiny bit uneven.
I have never from Fresh Roast original, to Rosto (I hated it so offed it to the kids) to my HotTop and drum
had an uneven roast.
It is either Alfred's Fed Ex'd Martini or I am just not paying attention. No not that.

It's been a while since I roasted decaf but, if I remember correctly, a
subdued 1st crack is not uncommon. I don't remember about evenness, but
given the dark color that it starts out, that may not be unusual.
I think Gene has been roasting a lot of decaf lately. Maybe he can
comment on the evenness issue.
