Is it out of warranty, Kevin? One of the reasons I got one is that
Starbucks is very good about repairing/replacing if there's a problem, and
the initial warranty is 2 years.

Kevin,
Just a couple thoughts. By no means am I even close to being mechanically inclined,so I would check the following:

1. with the portafilter out does the machine dispense water? if so how much? You may also want to check and make sure the little holes are not clogged up by holding it up to the light.

2. check the grind of your coffee, if it is too fine it will choke the machine. start with a coarse grind that allows water to flow, then work your grind down to the magic number area of something like 2 OZ in 25 seconds.

If you already have looked at these, sorry for wasting your time. After trying these I would be of no additional assistance.

Check the Grind! I am sure it is too fine! Homeroast is Fresh!!!
It hasn't had time to harden up like old stale beans. Alfred was
stalling his super powerful Giotto on homeroast because he was not
grinding for fresh homeroast!

Perhaps OP is adept with grind; could then be scale or a loose/cracked hose
somewhere, maybe on the pump, with leaking, or the pressure release is
loose, a bad pump, or...? Probably plenty to google onit.

Hi Kevin,
I have the same epresso maker. Starbucks has a warranty phone number
on the machine - call them 6am-5pm PST and they will help you no
charge to figure out what isn't working right.
I was astonished at how helpful they were to me and my system is 2
years out of warranty...
You'll be pullin shots very very soon!
