Topic: My first French Press brew (2 msgs / 20 lines)

I am now drinking my first cup with the French press. The French press clearly makes a nice cup of coffee. I have always used a Delonghi automatic drip pot. There seems to me greater subtlty in the coffe with the press (I am dringking a Panamanian decaf), though I don't think I made it strong enough following the directions that came with the pot. On the automatic drip I use one well rounded table spoon plus one additional tablespoonfull for each cup. I will measure, let's say, 6 cups of water in the iondicator of the pot, but always end up with around 4. With the press I used 3 well rounded spoonfulls of the spoon that came with the put and about 20 ounces water. It is pretty good but i do see the spring at the bottom and it could be a bit stronger. But I do like the way the coffee tastes with this method.

When you are happy with the coffee taste, you are doing it right :)
If you can see the spring I guess that is okay.. just not as strong as I
like it..
My 32 oz press pot takes about 50 gr of coffee to make it right :)
