Topic: 600, 700 800 Gram roasts today! Update after a day rest (40 lines)

First I must confess... the coffee I roasted yesterday I did not like
very much anyway :(
It was Kenyan, that I bought cheap, back before I knew better, and that
the quality of the beans really does make a difference :)
No better definition than that.. Kenyan. (Do you really want to
experiment with the good stuff?)
That being said, I tried a press pot yesterday, and I thought it tasted
burned, but then I do not really like Vienna roast.
After resting a day it has mellowed, and although I brewed 40 gr or
better for my half press pot.. my loving wife says it tastes good, but a
bit weak.
Remember we like dark roasted Harrar :)
So, I added my usual cream and sugar ( I know, I know), and the half and
half barely changed the color. Nope, I could not see the screen through
the side of the glass either :) ,
and the result is much better than char$ I would say. Rich tasting,
great aftertaste, but not as full as Harrar for sure.
Would I keep it for my regular coffee? Naaa, I really like Harrar and
Puro Scuro.
Would I roast the Harrar this way??
You Betcha!!!! :)
This is a fine way to roast coffee.
The 1200 watt turbo is a bit weak. I think I prefer a quicker roast
time; but I think the 1450 Watt will do the job just nicely.
What is the watt rating on the Sunpentown??
With this setup one can roast a batch of anywhere from 50 Gr up to a
kilogram, or more.
