I have found that on short trips, (1-5 days), that if I plan my roasting to
coincide closely with my departure and grind enough beans for my absence
that I can enjoy coffee very nearly as good as fresh ground at home and
definitely better than just about anything in proximity to my trip. Since
most of my travel is by commercial airlines everything must fit into a carry
on and my briefcase and be able to be transported easily. The stainless
press adds a little weight but goes the distance in durability. Road trips
include an inexpensive burr grinder and all the accoutrements from home.
