wow, so that is maybe 700 us dollars? no baskets, strange. ginny
are there pics up of this beauty? ginny
Argh - I've found something that I really want, can just barely afford but don't need in the slightest! I've found a 2 years old Rancilio Epoca for 550 euro, minus the filter baskets. Aghh!!
715 or so I think! It's way too cheap damnnit! Probably no warranty but a machine that size doesn't break easily. Probably a plumb in model, without a water tank. Argh. I want one, but I can't justify it, and would literally have nowhere to put it! I've seen an Epoca 2 group in person before, they're not small!
Come on... it's just what the well stocked kitchen needs. Do you have adequate counter space? From: Ming Wang Sent: Jan 20, 2005 11:46 AM To: homeroast Subject: +Ahhh! http://www.rancilio.it/english/indexengepoca.htmAnd there's no baskets rather than for the portafilter I think. Definitely not enough counter space, nor do I know whether its plumbed or not. Too much hassle for little old me I think.
No, you should buy it! ( Instigate #1) What are you using now, maybe we could make up some kinda deal...I'll probably be upgrading in 2 - 3 months, so you'd have time to get her up to speed...( and she's a beauty...(instigate #2) ) So you can email me, if you'd like to go that route....( make a choice available). Yeah, you could spend more money on a machine with only 1 boiler...but cool factor alone...your in ! ( making it too easy...(picture this...) Ming, can you see yourself, with a room full of your friends, and you casually lead them to your immaculate bar, and casually mention how you fully restored this machine to it's present glory? Time too pull a blank shot, to warm it up properly...mmm smell the freshly ground home roasted coffee... So, Ming will that be cash or charge? Maybe I'll get my tax returns back a little faster, if I'm properly motivated, myself ;-) Gary Ming Wang wrote: Argh - I've found something that I really want, can just barely afford but don't need in the slightest! Quit it! It's a 2 group twin HX nevermind twin boiler for crying out loud :(
I know, the picture of it makes me want to get it, too! How many cups on that rooftop? 24? Think about hanging out at the trade shows, 5 years from now, talking to the Rancilio Sales reps, pointing out minor flaws in the design of thier newest creation, wishing they would stick to refining a basic commercial machine, like those good ole Epoch's... More chrome than an OCC chopper, yada yada ya! Gary On Fri, 21 Jan 2005 07:42:47 -0000, Ming Wang wrote: <Snip>
