John, (someone has to keep you inline here!) That would be good by me. It would be fun to do a coffee house "crawl" to check out all the coffee houses up here. Similar to a pub crawl, only we would be left standing at the end! Tonya |

This is a multi-part message in MIME format. Ok Charlie, don't you make me come up there.... wait a minute, your up in the Vancouver area and I love that area so I will be right up....... ;) t |
Dan, I tried a bunch of the places here when we first moved back in '97 and found most of them lacking in consistency. For a consistently decent cup of coffee or latte every time out it was Starbucks. There was a women at the one on Far West that really helped me out when I first bought my Barista. We got together a couple of times and talked shot pulls etc. Had a alot of fun. To be honest, I drink mostly lattes out. I am not the best to be rating the espressos, however if they cannot get a good latte going it starts with a pulled shot. That is what I am going by. I liked Little City, CC's, Mozart's (ok the atmosphere is wonderful but I thought there stuff ok) and it seems that I hit almost everyone I could find. I just did not find anything I was that impressed with or a place I wanted to hang out at alot. Guess maybe I just felt to old to be at some of them! I was thinking that perhaps given the time between visits to some of these places would give a fresh look. Do you think it is worth a meeting of the "minds" for a coffee crawl? t |
Hope you announce the date for this coffee crawl! I am up in the Dallas area and would like to attend. Maybe we can make it in late September and have a BBQ and bring some of our own roast coffee. The crawl sunds like fun but the coffee we roast will taste better. Just a thought. Bob L (newbie in Dallas) |
Bob, September sounds like the ideal time/weather to do this thing. But I'd have to bow to Tonya's timing since it was here idea. John - Way down south Texas |
