Wasn't on line but was raising a cup (60% Horse 40% Mysore FC+),
anyone who can get this group to lift a cup must be OK.
Back when I was working for inventors/mad scientists we were coming up
with a formula to make a good aluminum etch. It's a long story but...
this soup contained a lot of well essentially denatured alchahol,
Drano, and bleach. After it percolated for awhile (a truly endothermic
reaction - stand back...) it had a oily substance on top that had a
fantastic blueberry smell. You really wanted to taste it. We
refrained, partially based on how fast it chomped through aluminum and
partially because despite its wonderful smell, well you don't live to
my age if your that stupid.
The point was, when I started droning on, yes it probably is a similar
chemical. Many alkaloids have very fruity smells.

Ahh alkaloids. I love alkaloids they are so curiously strong. I have
never seen a blueberry version though. Jared

OK I misspoke Esters are the fruity smells, alkaloids will just make
you think you smelled something fruity.

Its not a ester but I have discovered Nitrobenzene smells JUST like plum
wine - Having made that discovery in the lab, my brain will NOT let me
touch plum wine (THATISAPURECHEMICALYOUARENOTDRINKINGIT)
