Topic: New Mexican Decaf from Oaxaca ?? (31 lines)
1) From: Ryuji Suzuki -- JF7WEX
I just discovered that Sweet Maria's review page listed a new Mexican
decaf. Is it really coming? At what price? I was going to place an
order for other things but if it's really coming on 1 June I might
wait... (Ten more days...)
I've seen a couple of postings here that Mexican decaf Esmeralda is
uninteresting... I was about to order another 5 lbs... but before that
I feel I have to promote it. Roasted city and brewed unblended, it is
my Coca-Cola (after drinking enough heavy cups) and it tastes good
even after the cup naturally cools down. I also use it for my regular
espresso blend and some other blends too, where many people use
Brazilian or Columbian as their blend bases. (Partly because I don't
want to stock average south Americans for blend purposes, but this one
seems to work very well.) Even when I don't plan to, when blending
strong stuff like Sumatran and Ethiopian coffees, I sometimes end up
with something I really like but wish it were a bit milder... then
make it by taking half that and half Esmeralda. I'm not caffeine
sensitive, but it cuts down caffeine and therefore justifies to drink
twice as many cups too. (Although I never mix fine Jamaican dark rum,
premium bourbon, etc. with coke.)
