Hey, thanks for the response to my query about auto coffee makers.
Especially to Judy, But I'm with Jerry. I'm not touching her Bunn
either.  ;-}
Following several recommendations I decided to order a Presto
Scandanavian from Amazon. Had a $50 credit for test driving a new
Volvo V50. Perhaps there is some connection there between the swedish
car and the 'scandanavian' coffee maker. Hoping the coffee maker is a
nice as the Volvo too.
Found one source ($60) for the Melita Clarity: http://shop.store.yahoo.com/apexexpress/cl10comabyme.htmlNothing at the Melita home page so I am guessing that the Clarity has
been retired. Although that's not clear, clare whatever.
Maybe it's just me, but it looks like a high school science project
illustrating the petroleum refining process. Perhaps it looks better
in person.

Exactly. But it looks like a *Scandinavian* high school science project
illustrating the petroleum refining process. Looks mighty cool sitting on
my counter...plus, I can try to figure out petroleum refining while
enjoying an excellent cup of drip coffee!

I just drink the wonderful drip from my mod'ed Clarity, and ponder
petroleum prices in SoCal...
