Ever wondered what the actual infusion temp was up North? For the heck of it
just checked our 25oz Bodum Electric Santos vac brewer. When the water first
barely started creeping North water was around 95f. As water climbed temp
climbed hitting 185f when almost all water North. Temp quickly passed 190f
and continued to climp and peak @ 210f and held that temp remainder of
infusion.
Note: temps measured with quick response Thermapen. Best quick response
thermometer I know of with wide -50f to 572f range and goes to/from
32f/212f in a tested and confirmed 5sec or less. Love mine. (FWIW you
might notice Alton Brown, the "MacGyver" Chef, using a yellow one, mines
red;-)

Mike,
Have you calibrated it to confirm the accuracy of its readings?

Thanks for the thermapen tip. I very much trust you and Alton's
opinions about quality. Now if I only had $80. Jared
