Les,
Since insulating my PGR (Pretty Good Roaster, formerly known as Turbo
Beast) I have noticed a big difference in control.
Had to change the name because I tamed it quite well you know. :-)
It appears that what you say is true about keeping the weight constant,
and holding before second for several minutes with a slow ramp has made
a big difference for the better.
There is not much data as yet from my experience, but roasting Harrar
like this has made a large improvement.
Today, after a few days rest, the resulting brew is richer, smoother and
even buttery.
I have never tasted blueberry (taster worn out I guess) but this is much
better than I have ever experienced, and you know I really love Horse.
Can't wait for Tom to get more in, my stash is dwindling quickly.
Now I have to try some Puro Scuro this way, and French Roast.. and.....
