Well, I had some partial bags left out of my sampler pack that I didnt
want to waste so mixed and matched a few and cooked em up.
I had 2 oz of Guatemala HHT and 3.5 oz of Kenya AA
I used my I roast and did 3 minutes at 375 3 minutes at 400 and 2
minutes at 425. Temps were as set not as reading.
First crack started right about the 5:30 mark to well involved at the
6:00 mark. I let them continue roasting to a City - City+ then hit the
cool button.
They sat for a good day then I ground up 55 grams on a fairly coarse
grind, using the second to coarsest setting on a maestro classic grinder.
I brewed them in a Santos Bodum Electric 12 cup pot.
Kenya AA, Guatamala HHT... after tasting this cup, all I can say is...
Im gonna name it AAHH. Next one ill let roast an extra 30 seconds to
compare.

Sounds like a nice end of bags blend.
Aaron, what did you mean by "Temps were as set not as reading"? As set as in
set what, the I-Roast internal temp, opposed to reading what temp? Just
curious.
BTW, you may like taking it a bit darker. Both Quats and Kenyas handle FC to
FC+ well. A really good melange is taking a batch City and another batch FC+
and post roast mix 'em. Just make sure the City batch is a well developed
slow last stage. I haven't had a chance to play with the I-Roast so can
rightly say how I do it but have ideas based on my understanding of how the
I-Roast stages work Just know for sure how I'd do it with heater voltage
control, specifically taking it from start of 1st to about 430f in 3min to
3:30 min. If your light roasts have a green tendancy I'd try first stage
such that from 250f to 300f bean temp takes 3 to 4min combined with start
of 1st stage to end of roast 3 to 4min.

With the I roast, the temps you set on the machine and what it's readout
tells you the temperature is, are quite different. I went with what
temps I set the thing to.
