OK,
I'll come and watch the kids, take her with but please buy her a seat..
Not to worry about the children; we will have a great time.

Anybody know of good coffee in Reading? I'll be there all next week,
with Mr. Zass, Ms. Presspot, and 4lb of beans as my companions...

Would be fun! I am having trouble packing - Debbie won't climb back
out of the suitcase... I hate going without her...

Been there too often. When I proposed to Carolyn she accepted on 3
conditions: 1) I take her with me when I go fishing. 2) I move her out
of Vallejo 3) Take her to Europe.
Of course the first two were easy - we started our married life living
in San Francisco and then moved to Pudget Sound and the Great Northwest.
But I've been to Europe 11 times on business and she has yet to go. So
in four years we will be going for a two month stay in Europe to
celebrate our 50th. I've stayed a little out of hot water by taking
her to Canada a gazillion times, Mexico Brazil,
Venezuela, Colombia, Panama, Belize, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Texas.
But I know that sinking feeling of having to go one-more-time without
her. Bring back chocolate and all will be forgotten.

Well when WWII started and the German Sub surfaced off the Piedmont
Sound my mother wanted OUT of North Carolina. And so for reasons known
only to God and my dad, we moved to Vallejo. What was hilarious was
that just a couple of weeks after we got to Vallejo the Japanese sub
surfaced and fired on Signal Hill near Bakersfield. Until
the day my Dad died my mother banged on him over it. I'm a grad of
Grant Elementary, Franklin Jr. Hi and Mariana
Guadalupe Vallejo High Vallejo being a Mexican General
and governor of the area had a hand in naming lots of things including
Benecia after his wife. I graduated in 54 and
immediately went into the service and only came back long enough to meet
and marry the Incredible Blond. I gather by your spelling that you
must have been at Mare Island or at least close the the arm pit of the
bay.

Yea,
In and out of Mare Island several times during my swabbie days. Did
Navy Nuc school there (and Idaho Falls), was on a boat being
refueled/overhauled there, did Shore Patrol there for awhile. I
allways liked Vallejo, i guess it got a bad rep during the war. It is
definately a submarine town - which is to say - probably not everyones
cup of t - coffee (see back on topic). I worked Mare Island as a
civil service employee for several years after my time in the Navy,
and ended up back into the Pacific Northwest at the Bangor Trident
Base near Poulsbo. I've never looked back as far as the move back
north (I'm an Oregon native, other than by birth). I do have a lot of
good memories and feelings toward the bay area and Vallejo. Vallejo
seemed just far enough, for comfort, from the more high density
portions of the other bay area communities, but close enough to take
advantage of one of the worlds great cultures.
