Forgot something - by ignoring the presets, I basically set it to it's 
longest time. Or a notch down. Well beyond when you expect your roast to 
end. I typically set mine on 14. This is just a time indicator. Usually, 
my roasts are lucky to go beyond what would be setting 1 on my units, 
but in the winter when it's cooler I've had some longer roasts... I'm 
currently cooling some Harar that went into first crack at 13:41 and I 
gave it 2:30 and ended the roast by pressing the cool button at 16:11. 
Nice brown roast sans any oil. Pretty much the target for this coffee 
for me. Some I'll roast lighter - I like Kona lighter. Some I roast 
darker - Zimbabwe and Ugandan are good a little darker. But you do have 
to get enough of the coffee to get to know it.
