Hello fellow listers,
In case you haven't heard, there's a great new neighborhood coffee
roaster here in San Francisco -- on Valencia St. near 21st Street in
the Mission. They're currently using Stumptown beans from Portland --
but are planning to install their own roaster right there in the shop
soon. Get this -- they're NOT serving any drip coffee at all . . .
only French Press either made to order or from timed airpots, which is
amazing for San Francisco. Had a fantastic americano the first time I
went in -- and a brilliant cup of Ethiopian Yirgacheffe the second
time.
This place has a great feel and look to it. But most of all, you can
tell they take coffee really seriously. I told them I roast beans at
home -- and, of course, they know the SM folks across the Bay already.
I'm just thrilled to have this place only 5 blocks from where I live!
The rest of you Bay Area folks ought to come by sometime and check it
out! (www.ritualroasters.com)

Interesting. Sounds like they're not only using Stumptown's roasts but also
following Stumptown's cafe formats. BTW, does that SF shop make high profit
margin milk shake like with a bit of espresso blender drinks? (If the answer
is no, then they are really following Stumptown's cafe format.)

I haven't been to Stumptown, but they must be following the
model...only French Press coffee and straight-up espresso drinks -- no
fancy milk-shake drinks, etc.
Here's a plus: free wireless . . . you should see the room full of Macs!

I heard that there is a shop in Glen Park that has started roasting
there own but I haven't had a chance to try it out yet.
Thanks
