Topic: This list has become nearly worthless now water vapor (30 lines)

My first roasts were with a hot air popper, and I quickly went down the
road of looking for both more control and larger roasts.
About the time I got my dual Variac modified Poppery I online, I had
been roasting about half the amount I really wanted to and started
experimenting with different size/shaped chambers. This happened to be
at a time when it was raining often here in Lake Havasu City. Usually we
have VERY low humidity, and the rain / humidity interfered with my
experiments such that I almost gave up on the Poppery and air roasting
altogether. I did not realize that at the time, but when the weather got
dry again, my roasting became more manageable.
This just comes to mind looking back at it. Now I roast in a closed,
recirculating air roaster, and humidity doesn't seem to play a part.
There is still smoke coming out, and some chaff escapes during roasting,
so it isn't entirely a closed system, but it is not a flow through
system like an air popper.
Hope this helps,
PeterZ
