First I've gotta say there were quite a number of excellent roasts of excellent beans brought to PNWGIII by many people. Don't think for a second home roasting cannot equal or even beat professional roasting! From the wild to mild. Alchemist's Heinz 42 roast got raves. People (even Tom) went goo-goo over Les's rendition of Panama Geisha. Les's Cinnamon Uganda on the other hand got mixed reviews. It was a beautiful cinnamon roast, no hints of any grassy or underroast, but just didn't work for me in the cup when I was challenged to pull a triple ristretto with it! Pulled a couple right nice looking 1oz triples but not there in the cup to me. Too cinnamony?-) Oaxaca brought a couple dazzling roasts: a Mexican/ El Sal' Miel blend and harrar melange, both excellent. Pulled a few shots of the two combined that were out of this world. Who brought the Puro Scuro roast? Don't know but it was good! Greg brought a couple HotTop roasted delights: Australian Mt Top & Moki's Kona. He was complaining a bit yesterday about how we've kind of ruined him from buying cheap greens;-) Sunday morning made a first of the morning Americano with a JBM Mavis Banks beautiful two roast melange Mike (just plain;-) gifted me. I knew it looked and smelled excellent Saturday evening, which was only surpased by the cup! Barry brought a roast of Kenya 04 Auction Lot 624 Kora Peaberry 'cuz I'd mentioned to him I didn't try it last year. I made a small Press Pot Saturday to try, outstanding bean and roast! Debi loved it. Hmmm, that wasn't one of the roasted beans I found any left overs. I'm sure I missed some of the roasts brought by others and I apolgize. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, with excellent greens lovingly and meticulously sourced by Tom and skills learned from this List it's an unbeatable one two punch. Which leads me to my first post host roast this morning. Barry brought me 2# Kenya Kora Peaberry greens! (been kept vac bag sealed just like I do mine) Barry told me Tom tried to get them from him but I'm the lucky recipient. Roasted them about Tom's recommended City+ in 12:00, about 3:30 start of 1st to EOR inc plus 0:15 finish hold. Haven't brewed any yet but smell of roast developement and but post roast beans munch says gonna be good. Thanks Barry! I respectfully roasted the KKP sipping an Island of St. Helena Blueman's Estate 04 Americano. (Enough for one double shot was all that was left from what I roasted for PNWGIII vac pot brews to go with desert.) miKe mcKoffee PNWGIII 75 Pic Albumhttp://mdmint.home.comcast.net/coffee/Rosto_mod.htmUltimately the quest for Koffee Nirvana is a solitary path traveled by many.
