Hi Everyone
Thanks for the suggestions for removing the parchment. I will try the
rolling pin with beans in a bag idea. I have left them in the sun again
today and that seems to make the parchment easier to crack.
I took the ground coffee to our nature park friends yesterday and as luck
would have it, they had visitors from Australia there so they were all able
to try the coffee. (blush, blush) they all agreed it was very good, a
little strong for their taste, but good!!
There are seven trees in the park - all Arabica - so I will have a steady
supply of coffee to play with for a while to come.
Cheers
Wendy

Hi Wendy.
Your postings re the growing, harvesting and preparation of your beans
is really interesting to me. I know you are learning but I am learning
along with your postings. Please keep them up. I hope others feel the
same as I do.
Thanks.

There is only one expert at non-commercial removal parchment associated with this list.
That is Mandy - beanwild
Unfortunately she is away from her home base right now, but drop her an email and no doubt she
will reply when she returns.
She left me some in the parchment, I was thinking if I could find a way to gold plate them, I could sell them as
jewelry to homeroasters! Would be a heck of a lot more rewarding than ruining your fingernails!
Happy Roasting

I visited a fellow in Kona this April.
He told me to remove the parchment, he put the beans in a burlap bag,
and whacked 'em with a baseball bat till it was all off, if I remeber
correctly.
(He's on the list, but RARELY posts.)

Yesterday I used a brown paper bag and rolling pin on the last of the beans
and this worked quite well. Thanks.
