Topic: A brick not charcoal for Christmas?! (6 msgs / 105 lines)

Now tell me, would you want a brick instead of charcoal? (or Spanish
roast:-) A new brick, not even a cool looking used brick at that. Oh, not
that kind of brick? But a Bric', as in direct plumbed rotary pump driven
1.5L 1900w heated boiler E61 group levered HX Fiorenzato Briccoletta? Now
that's a Bric' not a brick!
Talking to Chris (of Chris' Coffee) the other day and determining he'll
probably likely time will tell don't count your chickens before they hatch
when it happens it is then a reality come out with a PID dual boiler Quick
Mill '06 and calling and failing to get WLL to budge from the current $1699
Brewtus II price and once again deciding I don't want an HX so Vetrano not
an option and S1 just too big for our kitchen decided to push on with Silvia
grouphead PID heater rope mod for now. He mentioned a slightly can't notice
unless you know to look cosmetically damaged Bric' he'd let go cheap. But
since I'd already convinced myself I didn't want an HX didn't take him up on
the offer and later that day ordered the PID and other parts for Silvia's
shot series temp stabilizing grouphead mod.
But the Bric' kept whispering to me and so I kept reading and re-reading
reviews including Chris Tacy's professional's review on HB which was highly
favorable. Suffice it to say the Bric' passed it's bench check-out today and
is heading my way! At 47% off suggested retail and 43% off normally offered
price just too good a deal to pass up.
And I promise no charcoal Spanish roast will ever pass it's PF. (or any
other brewing method in my house for that matter;-) Truth be told anything
beyond FC+ is a rarity in my roasting.
Toughest decision now will be what to roast for the Bric's christening!

I can't believe you would leave Silvia. Now you have to find a home for her
and in addition pay alimony.

Welcome to the world of temp-surfing - - congratulations!
Monkey - a good (realy good) standard - to check the two machines against
each other with.
