Thought everyone would like the following info, sorry, the attachment didn't come through but I'm sure we aren't looking for the recognition in this effort. Mike's thanks are to everyone as I explained that 'we' are sending coffee etc:
Dear Linda, this is a wonderful thing you are going to do. Perhaps Major Cary sent you to me because I regularly send packages to all Military Personnel in both Iraq and Afghanistan. I am acting with several benefactors
who send me money regularly to send cigars to our troops overseas. This event is called "Operation Warrior Kings" and we have sent many packages so far. Should you wish to send the package yourself you may do so and here is
some advice.
Use USPS Priority Mail. Do not list contents that may be hazardous or flammable and send nothing like that in the box. If you are sending coffee and cigars then just list the coffee in the customs declaration. Go to the
Post Office and obtain a USPS Priority Mail #7 box for shipping. The dimensions are 12x12x7. Use clear tape only to seal the box and a customs
declaration form PS-2976-A must accompany the box. In the space where you list the contents of the package the first line should say "Donations for our Troops". This alerts the recipient that the box is coming from a person or organization making such a donation. With the contents of the box should be a letter telling that military person that this is a donation to his/her unit and should be shared with his/her troops. Include your name and address
where you could receive mail safely and an email address to be contacted.
Should you desire me to handle this for you, you can send whatever you wish to me for shipping overseas and I will handle this for you and pay for the shipping charges. MrBundles.com is paying for all shipping charges for
packages going through me. We have a form letter which we send with the packages listing you as the sender of the package and letting the military person know how much we appreciate his/her sacrifice. (See sample letter
attached). Below is an address of a marine chaplain to whom you may send your package. He will distribute the contents for you. Keep in mind coffee, even roasted coffee will be hard for the men and women overseas to deal with. Most forward units don't have means to prepare such items. If you want to send items other then cigars and coffee, socks, gloves, toothpaste and brushes are in short supply there.
Should you have any further questions you may contact me here or call me toll free on 866.672.8635.
