It's truly sad and we are indeed lucky to have a consistent highest quality
source such as Sweet Maria's. When I first started home roasting I tried
other vendors to save a few pennies, getting the "same" bean as from SM to
compare. Almost never up to SM quality standards. Other than some Konas
haven't bought any greens from anywhere but SM for something like 4 years.

Amen to that. The beans that are worse than Ugh are actually the flagship
blend (Jumpstart) from another company. You would think they would at least
get that one right. There is no comparison between their beans and Tom's.
It only took me one sample pack from another company to become a true
believer in SM. Life is too short to drink bad coffee, or anything else for
that matter.

Agreed. I've only been homeroasting for about a
year, and at the start I bought some Kenya AA from
another source and from SM. Allegedly they were the
same beans, but in the cup you would never have known
it. SM beans are head and shoulders above.

I have occasionally looked, but in reading their information on the
coffee they had, there was simply not much to go on. Tom's descriptions
give me confidence in knowing what the flavor will be and give me an
idea whether I will like it or not, especially on coffees I've never
tried before.
So, any time I've looked elsewhere, and it has been a while, I've just
never felt I could hit the "Add to cart" button even, as I just don't
have confidence that they will be anywhere near the same quality. Even
those who are cheaper, I've not messed with. It is Tom's site that first
drew me into home roasting when I found it, and I haven't looked back since.
Thanks Tom for all the great coffees you bring us each month, and may
both you and Maria enjoy your Christmas break coming up. You both
deserve it!
Alright, I've got money so I'll add to your load real soon...but it will
be a simple order to fill. :-)
