There nare planty of people who have used and liked the Solis Maestro
as a grinder - and it will help with eliminating some of the dust.
Along the way you may need to replace burrs, and this seems more of a
challenge on the Solis than on some of the more xexpensive - but
that's a long term trade-off. Don't be fooled with buyer's remorse.
There will always be another machine a little better, a litte more
costly, and it is likely what you actually need. But then you get
it,and then see another... circle keeps going around....
Sludge at the bottom is part and parcel with presspot coffee... Get a
spoon and some sugar!
Merry Christmas, yours will be nice!

Welcome to the list Geary. This is really a nice group of very
knowledgeable people on the cutting edge of coffee roasting. I have the
Solis Maestro and love it. I have used it for every thing but espresso and
Turkish grinds for over a year and it does a fantastic job. One thing I
love about Tom's site is that he doesn't sell crap. Other sites will sell
anything if it will sell big. Tom seems to be very careful about making
sure a product is the real deal before he carries it. Then he will tell yo=
u
in the description of the item the facts about its limitations. To me this
is the best kind of salesmanship and why I am kind of goofy committed to
sweetmarias. I trust them. The limitations people write about the Solis
are real but I feel like I have gotten more than my money out of this
grinder. Jared (the coffee flavored Koolaid tastes great)
