I'm wondering if there is much coffee coming from Domican Republic these
days? I had someone at work ask me about it yesterday. He said he hadn't ha=
d
any in years, but loved it. I know there hasn't been any available from SM'=
s
in the last few years so that says alot. I wonder how the future looks? Ha=
s
anyone here tried it in the past?

I know some of my favorite cigars have come from the DR, but that
doesn't really have anything to do with anything does it :-)

Funny you should mention that. Our local newspaper had an article about =
Domincan Republic coffee in last Sunday's business section because =
someone from a local roaster (Columbia Street Roastery) went on a trip =
to the DR and cupped some coffee. The DR is trying to build a specialty =
coffee reputation; the article didn't go into details about how they're =
doing that.
The article claimed that most or all DR coffee is extremely bright, =
almost to the point of being one-dimensional. Some Japanese and =
European cuppers have rated some of their coffees very highly, though.
