Not before you pour them out.  Just to get an idea of your starting point!

I tried another roast in the BtB tonight.  It was my second one and I used =
2
cups of beans.  It came out much better.  I think the extra shaking and
wrestling with it that you suggested was the key.  The roast looks great.
I'll try it out tomorrow.
