Hi Bob
On June 16, 2001, you wrote, "I've found
that by keeping the alp set on 14 (for sumatra) and using 10.5 volume oz I
can get a fairly reliable dark roast. "
I just came off the deck from roasting 10.5 oz of Sumatra, Automatic setting
14. The temp. outside was 93.2F, which is just about unheard of in Calgary,
Alberta. First crack was about 18:30 and the machine went to cool at about
19:49.
My beans did not come out dark at all. They are mixed between medium and
dark (but no sheen on them). Did yours come out darker than that?
They smell wonderful, but sometimes that's not an indication.
