As a matter of fact.....my daughter just called and said, "I need more
coffee!" She is talking to someone in the background saying, "No she
doesn't have any more Colombian left, but she has other kinds that
taste really good." We have a little home based coffee business
going. I delivered six 1/2 pound bags to her yesterday and they were
gone in minutes. She even sold the coffee I bought for her to drink.
So we're going to roast up some more today. My sister wants business
cards to pass out at work because they want beans, too. I just lowered
our photography business website to budget hosting to save $10 a
month, got a domain name for our coffee business, ordered budget
hosting and started creating the website.
I think that article in the Oregonian about current coffee trends
helped. I had 6 people bring me the article! If it's in the paper it
must be true. All of a sudden my coffee is the current rage. I don't
think it hurts that my daughter brews up a pot of home roasted at work
and has been taking it up to other floors of the hospital to sample.
My son works in an appointment call center, so he's next on the supply
list. All I want to do is have my stash and coffee toys paid for, so
maybe I can buy that HX Les suggested. And maybe a new grinder to go
with it. Since my husband is doing a lot of the roasting, he's
starting to make noises about a drum roaster.
What a ride!

Wonderful that you need more coffee :)
Great business, congratulations!
Would you mind sharing how much you sell a half pound bag for?
Thanks,

Thanks, Peter,
$5 per half pound. I bag them in half pound bags. That way they can
get half a pound of this and half a pound of that. Sometimes, I blend
like the Ethiopian Harar Lot 30 and the Tanzania, but mostly single
origins. Soon they will be able to email me what they want, so I can
roast exactly what they want. The labels have the URL and email
address on them.
