I had a little time and was able to put this together for you. Enjoy. I don't have the drill attached as of yet.http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/jdehoog/album?.dir=/cff3scd&.src=ph&.tok=phIfVyEBdW9C2xBj

You really have a nice setup with that tapered drum. Great work. Are you
going to do a web page describing your fabrication process with hows,
wheres, whys and $$? I'll add a link if you make a page. Or email me and
we can work out something together. I'll help.

I like the tapered drum thing too. I especially like the stainless
route, which is what I initially wanted todo but couldn't find a
stainless container full of holes and didn't want to spend hours with a
drill bit, or have to pump a few rounds of #8 shot into the thing....
trust me THAT idea did cross my mind, heh.

The perfs are not necessary though to get a good roast. Granted, they do
help with the chaff removal if the holes are big enough, but too big and the
smaller beans fall out or get stuck in the holes. 5/32"d is about the
biggest I would go, and 1/8"d would be better. I have one with 2mm holes
that works well, but much of the chaff stays in the drum with that one.
I think it's an optical illusion, but it seems the tilting of the drum with
the opening on the front would allow a fuller load before the beans come out
the opening.

Sweet looking! How does it work and what kind of lb range are you getting.
