I have about 10 pounds of green coffee. I used to store it in cloth bags in a box in the basement. But I picked up one of these in the clearance section at the Ikea in Toronto recently:

http://www.ikea.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?topcategoryId567&catalogId103&storeId&productId965&langId=-1&parentCats567*15661*16260 The disadvantage is the weight limit is between 10 and 20 pounds as the plastic roller bends some with 10 pounds of coffee in the pouches.

Just curious about how everyone keeps their greens. Before I build up a stash of beans I wanted to ask anyone willing to answer:
How much coffee do you keep on hand?
  How do you store it?

  Thanks

That set up is nice :)
I was getting overwhelmed with tripping over bags and boxes of SM beans,
so what I thought I wanted was a large dresser.
The newer kind with roller slides. No, not a new one!
A tall one, rather than wide.
What I *got* was sort of a horizontal filing cabinet. It had to have
been custom made, but I found it in a thrift store.
It is tall AND wide. 4'H x 5'W x 2'D
The drawers are on those roller slides, and I know for a fact that one
will hold over 70#.
There is a bit of room left for more if I need it.
All the drawers are the same size. 21"D x 24"W x 9.5"H
The other 4 drawers are not quite that full.
There are doors beside the drawer set with shelves that hold other
coffee stuff.
The price was right, much less than $100.00 and it works very well.
All the decaf goes in one drawer, the Ethiopian in another etc. etc.
Sorry, I do NOT WANT TO KNOW how big my stash is.
If I did I would have to think carefully about ordering more...
All the beans in the drawers are in the bags that they came in from
Sweet Maria's.
On top of the cabinet is more coffee stuff.. scale, funnels, mixing bowls.
Also it holds a UPS with my wireless router and wireless internet
connection.
That only takes up a little corner though.
I don't think it is strong enough to hold the Mazzer Major, so it sits
on another table nearby. An old drafting table.
But that is another story...

Presently I have about 163 lbs in my stash, around 30 different types.
I keep 5 lbs of each in a cotton draw string bag and vacuum seal the rest.
IMHO vacuum sealing the beans extends the life of the beans. The only bad
thing I've found using the vacuum bags is they are difficult to store. They
don't stack good so they go in a box on the floor in the pantry.
