Lee,
What a great looking grinder! I can almost hear the factory clamor
just looking at it! I can't find anything about them via Google. Is
there a place currently selling these grinders?
Thanks,
Brian

Is it OK to broadcast to everyone where I got them?
They are likely to sell out very-very fast.

I checked with SweetMaria's and they said its OK to
post.
I got them from a company that sells unusual and
sometimes exotic stuff. Many times its Military
Surplus - NOS and used.

The Grinder should be at the following link:http://www.deutscheoptik.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_idV0If it is not, just go to their web page and type in
Coffee in their search box. (its the only coffee item
that will pop up).

Thanks for the picture. I'm used to seeing big flywheels on the large old
grinders, does the Trosser have a lot of mass in the rotating parts that
would do the same thing?
Michael Wade

8) From: Lee Shannon
It probably has a lot of mass.
It certainly seems like it does.
I got it home tonight and into the kitchen into
my corner of coffee stuff without the wife saying
anything yet.
I'll probably grind tommorrow morning.

I survived.
She just rolled her eyes.
It grinds powder fine.

I, too, am curious about the flywheel issue. Does it grind steadily? How
much does it grind in a given time period? Is it relatively fast -- compared
with other grinders -- given its size? It looks as if, on top of the unit,
there might be a fitting that could accommodate a flywheel. Is that true? Is
there room for a flywheel on the shaft between the crank and the casting?
Good grief, there are oil holes on those bushings. Do NOT tell me the
gearcase also has oil in it. ;-)

Yes, but you lubricate with coffee oil. ;)

13) From: Lee Shannon
It grinds as steadily as you can turn the arm.
The grinding arm unscrews (actually is it shipped that
way). You just turn it counterclockwise.
If you wanted you could make a flywheel (or a grooved
pully system tied to an electric motor) I suppose.
For me, that would kind of defeat the purpose.
All I know is it grinds more than my largest Zass box,
i.e., bigger hopper, bigger drawer, and seemingly,
more throughput.

How adjustable is the grind?

15) From: Lee Shannon
seemingly very - it adjusts on the bottom like a
Turkish Zass.
I just adjusted it to powder fine, but I assume it can
adjust to a lot coarser grind if you wanted it to.
