Topic: OT Good cheap grinder (8 msgs / 122 lines)

This is sort of off topic but if anyone should know, it would be this group.
I need to purchase an inexpensive grinder for my Dad who grinds flax seed,
not coffee. Need to get a burr grinder as he had an old Melitta I had which
was not very good for coffee but great for spices and flax seed. Got a new
version of the Melitta burr grinder for about $20 but it no longer has a
fine enough grind and he has to grind the flax seed 3 times to get it as
fine as the old Melitta burr. Can anyone recommend an inexpensive ($20-30)
burr grinder for flax seed?

I grind flax seed in a Krups whirly--$20.

A cheap 9$ whirly grinder works just fine for me. Do a few days worth at a
time and store in a glass air tight jar in the dark. Nice to know I'm not the
only one that grinds flax.

I grind flax in a cheapo store brand. I eat it as porridge for
breakfast, and prefer it to have a bit more texture.

I use an old Braun for daily flax. Don't know if this will grind fine
enough, or even that you'd find one.
The grinder was also used for hot peppers that I dried over the winter.
Funny how my morning health shakes were spicy for a week....

"Nutritionist Daily" (produced by a company by the name of"Salton") Was =

months ago it started to grind very course so I cleaned the burrs, but =
also I think I may have not realized I had moved the little wheel that =

The Nutritionist really looked interesting however it appears not to be
available anymore. Even Amazon seems to be out.

Rob, I had the same grinder, well, still have, but it bite the dust. stopped
going roundy roundy, and was last used being held together with a large
rubber band...
Trying to remember, but may have dropped it a couple of times.
