Thanks for the information Terry and Vicki.  I am roasting 4.9 ounces (138.9 grams) of Panama Carmen Estate.  I will try reducing it to 130 grams and see if it helps.
   
  Also, I have an extra PID controller and thermocouple from PIDing my Classic.  The SSR port on the PID is blown (long story, mislabeled terminals).  I have been meaning to use them to monitor the temperature in my I-roast.  Maybe tonight I will install the PID controller as a thermometer.

What weight in beans are you using? I get more control with fewer beans, 
it seems. I think it is a result of the added heat from the mass of 
beans themselves. 130 grams seems better than 140 (or more) in terms of 
prolonging the time between cracks.
