Topic: World Cup Order (11 msgs / 149 lines)
1) From: Jared Andersson
While ordering more coffee today I decided to do it with a theme. The theme
was coffee from countries in the World Cup of Soccer. Unfortunately I found
out that many of the great coffee producers are not great soccer countries.
I ordered from Mexico, Brazil and Costa Ricca. I didn't get to order from
Australia and none of the African team's in the world cup produce good
coffee. Am I forgetting any countries that either are currently in the
World Cup or are usually in it? Jared

Speaking of Austrailia.
Hey Tom, is an Austrailian Mountain Estate going to be available again
this year?
If so, about when can we expect it.
EXCELLENT cup of coffee if I say so myself.... worth every penny of it's
fairly high price tag.
Aaron.

Well, Jared, I think you're forgetting good ol' USofA - and Tom just posted
a new Kona!

I am working on a special lot with them, and a "standard" lot. So
yes, there should be Mountain Top offerings and they should be
interesting. But you never know till it is here. I actually thought
this was going to be an "up" year for jbm and I rejected every
shipment - terrible.

Argentina actually has a little coffee production. It is awful stuff,
unlike their team, which I am convinced is going to win it all...

Jared,
Also, Colombia and Bolivia have been in recent World Cup tournaments,
though not this year.

I asked the question because I had a suspicion I was forgetting something
obvious. To me forgetting Kona coffee says that some where in my psyche I
either don't consider Hawaii a part of the United States or I don't consider
our soccer team to have been a part of the World Cup. The way they played I
am guessing it is the later. Jared (drowning his soccer sorrows in Espresso

I tend to think of Hawaii as a subjugated kingdom (which it is, actually)
rather than a state (which it also is, actually). Not that I'm complaining
...

i'm with you Jared, freakin USA team only scores 1 goal in 3 games???
i was drowning my sorrows in a 50/50 blend of the Panama carmen estate and
Brazil COE #5, neither of which i like a whole lot alone, but in a blend it
was very nice.

The Australian Mountain Top Peaberry is a very good coffee. I would think if
you like a Kona or Jamaica Blue Mountain that it'd be an outstanding coffee
for you.
While on vacation we stopped to see friends, and were served instant coffee.
They were less than an hour from the Mountain Top Estate. After we got home
I mailed some roasted Australian Mountain Top Peaberry to them. It didn't
completely turn them into coffee drinkers, but the do have a grinder & drip
brewer next to the teapot now.
