To celebrate Independence Day and Freedom from mediocre coffee I roasted
some Panama Gesha to be 5&1/2 rest ready this morning. (LFC, Fall '05
Jaramillo Gesha) Since the first time experiencing Panama Gesha last year's
auction lot I'd never "defiled" it's sublime cup with milk (and of course no
sweeteners or flavorings). But a year ago I'd only begun to really
appreciate the traditional Italian breakfast cappuccino with 1:1:1 ratio of
espresso to steamed milk to micro foamed milk for the excellent morning
coffee expression it really is, not a defiling of a coffees nuances just a
different voice. This cup I'm drinking, my first ever Gesha cappuccino,
takes away nothing but singing in a whole different harmonious symphonic
dance on the palate. To say it's excellent doesn't come close.
Oh, and to fulfill my FS acolyte obligations I'll mention the last of the
cherry macnut biscotti made before PNWG IV and kept canister vac sealed is
still quite excellent and not dried out, still crunchy yet moist;-) A very
nice compliment to the Gesha cap'.
There is one problem with Gesha though. It can make any other cup you might
have later that day pale in comparison!
