Topic: New Thor Tamper has a home! (2 msgs / 36 lines)
1) From: Dave Nielsen
After buying Barry's Silvia I found I need a 58mm tamper, the one that
I had turned out to be slightly smaller at 56-57mm and wasn't working
well. I got in touch with Les and had soon arranged for one of his
fine Koa wood tampers to be sent northward to its new home. Greg
loaned me a 58mm Ergo from Vivace at PNWG IV to use until the new Thor
arrived. The Koa wood tamper is a thing of beauty and fits my baskets
perfectly. Les does great work turning these tampers, weighting them
and applying the finish. The Ergo tamper is also a nice tamper with
good weight and concave tamping surface, it also has some grooves cut
around the outside diameter to help ensure the tamper is aligned and
parallel to the basket walls and get a tamped puck of even thickness.
Thanks to Les for the fine craftsmanship and thanks to Greg for the
loan of the Ergo tamper!
